This artist feels that she is now moving from the object-ground relationship to purer abstraction. Figurative elements do not interest Miss Chaffery who is involved in symbolism of a very personal nature. Colour relationships present an intriguing and inevitable challenge.
One of the youngest painters represented in the Aldridge collection, Antonia Chaffey was until recently a student at the Fine Art Painting course at the School of Art.
